I started dancing at the age of 3 and became quite competitive with it in my teen years. I took ballet, jazz, musical theater, tap, celtic, hip hop and some modern classes, dancing took up most of my free time. At the age of 16 I decided I wanted to socialize more, as most teenagers do, so I quit dancing entirely. It was around the same time that I briefly dated a guy a little older then me who was completely obsessed with bodybuilding. Being young, timid and very impressionable I wanted to impress my boyfriend by proving my commitment to the sport that he was so interested in (but mostly I just wanted him to like me) so I started weight training regularly. Training quickly filled the empty void that was left in my life after leaving dancing behind and I soon found myself completely infatuated it. I loved being in control of my body and shaping it how I wanted, I loved the endorphin rush after a good session and I loved the confidence I gained.
Now at almost 28 my love affair with the gym is stronger then ever! Everyday I learn something new and I love to share my insights and new knowledge.
